The rehearsals starts

Well the rehearsals for AMei's world tours started and I am so pleased to be playing with some of the coolest and talented musicians around. So far the musicians lineup are:
Jimmy lee (drums). Jamie Wilson (guitars) myself (guitars) Iggy Bong (bass) Ruth ling (keyboards) Christine Sham (keyboards) and Reggie Perera (percussions) Martin Tang (Music Director)
Fact is..the last time I toured was about 5 or 6 years ago..I thank God that I am able to do this again with these guys...

Rehearsals in Taipei was a whole lot different as we get to run through the songs with Amei.
Playing some of the songs brought back great memories of my 1st show with Mei :)
She still sound as good as I last remembered..

Mei being her playful self..she is still the same sweet girl that we know :)

A beautiful way to spend 9 days in ministry..

Well I finally understand what blogging is all about. I guess once you are caught up in the activities of the week, you'll end up with lapses..especially if your intent is on reporting what goes on each day. It's cool..it's a great way to let your loved ones know what you are up to. I can probably relate more to them in terms of words and pictures about what I am experiencing.

At the end of Friday night in which we had a great worship with the youths and worship members, I came down with a slight cough which I knew would developed into a full blown cough if I do not have enough rest. I thank God that Connie gave me some Woods peppermint cough syrup that night. I had a really good rest and was able to share and teach on Saturday.

I shared my testimony on Sunday and had the chance to meet up with Emily, a missionary with YWAM. We went for dinner that night with a couple of guys and gals from the church and we were touched by the fellowship that was saturated with genuine love.
What joy it is to be amongst brethren who are like minded!

On Monday, we had lunch with my cousin Robin and we did some shopping as Dora experienced Harbor Point. We had dinner at our friend Ray's place and proceeded up to Joel's place later that night fir some fellowship. Yea..we were trying to squeeze everything in in one day! Haha

On coming home to PS Chandra's home, I had some male bonding time with Ps Chandra and had a great time praying for each other's ministry.

Come Tuesday morning, we took Kiara for a cold morning walk. Kiara is such a sweet and loving dog..fitting for a sweet loving family that she belongs to.
We then had a great breakfast and finally drove to the airport...

Me and Dora, we went through quite a bit in our walk in Christ Jesus. It's a long and hard concrete road that we traveled on, sometimes tinged with disappointments and hurts. But there were also times where we walk on grass that feels like velvet..covered with the love of Christ that makes our work and ministry easy as Sunday mornings..:). This is one of those times..

We have what we could call a Christ encounter..an encounter through the people we met in Nollamara City Church. The hospitality and love me and Dora had experienced comes truly from people who know how to love like Christ do..

The youths we met...they are in really good hands. I love all of them .. They have a place in our hearts :)
The worship team and leaders are all so teachable in all aspects of our teachings and sharing, be it spiritual or practical. Sharolyn, Vera, Albert, Robin, Rajit and their spouses and Natalie, I know that all of you are going to be such a blessing to the church and the community!

I thank God that we went through all that He had in store for us in this trip. The opening of our eyes and heart on many issues has been a wonderful learning experience for both me and Dora. Thank you Jesus...for letting us see, feel and know the word "Beauty"

Day two Perth

Had a great night's sleep and woke to a glorious morning with a great breakfast by our hostess Connie. Took a lovely walk with Dora, Cat and the family dog Kiara. Coming from the recent heatwave in singapore, it's really refreshing to be walking out in with the sun shining and not literally melting in the scorching heat. The weather today is really nice..will be heading out to a few places later..just hope I don't get confused by the parking system in Perth haha..

We drove to koroong Christian bookstore with our hosts' 2nd car (what a blessing they are!) and I finally have a go at the famous Jus burgers that everyone is talking about. Found out that parking in Suibaco can be expensive at Aus$3/- per half hour!

Come evening we had a wonderful home cooked dinner with fabulous chicken curry!
We also had a wonderful time worshipping with the guys in city church Nollamara in their prayer meeting! What a joy to see Aussies, Chinese and Africans coming together before the Lord!

Day one at Perth

We touched down safely to a very wet and cold Perth. We were so glad to meet up Ps Chandra, Connie, Vera, albert, Joel and sharolyn again. Had a great tea time which was loving prepared by Ps chandra's children! Yummy! And we met their dog! A lovely Goldie/poodle named Kiara.
Then we had a lovely Chinese dinner..I am so bushed but yet excited with what God has in store for all of us in the next few days. :)

A cute teapot cover :)

Isn't Kiara lovely?

The Fujifilm, IPad2 and the Apple camera connection kit

So in preparation for my frequent traveling this later part of the year, I decided to get the Apple connection kit so that I can upload the pictures taken by the X100 to the IPad and henceforth to the blog.

The kit cost Sin$38/- in any Apples reseller outlets. It consist of 2 components, a USB port and a SD card reader.

You can either plug in the USB connector to a USB cable which is connected to your camera or you can take out your camera's SD card and plug that into the SD port connector. And yes..only SD cards are supported.

There have been reports that some SD cards stop working after transfer and have to be reformatted in a pc or Mac outside of the IPad to get it working again.
A safe work around is to switch your SD card to safe mode when you want to do a transfer with the connection kit. And remember to switch it back to write mode right after.

There were also users reporting that the USB port can be connected to other USB peripherals like keyboards, headphones and if your IPad is jail broken, an external drive.
But when the IPad was updated to IOS 4.3, it kinda stop working because the port is running on different (lower) power voltage.

So here I am trying out the kit with my Fujifilm X100 and well..it worked flawlessly!

One thing to note is that I use Photoshop express to edit the photos in the IPad but for some reason it cannot edit raw files(NEF) from the Nikon D90.
On the other hand, I have no problems with the X100 raw files and Jpegs :)

I hope this post helps those who are also interested in getting the camera kit when you travel. Have fun!

Here is an actual shot taken by the X100, uploaded to the IPad2 and edited by the photoshop express.
